Garlic Fest in Bennington VT

In between practicing my new Wacom tablet and painting tests strips for my first project at FIT, I decided to take a break to write about the Garlic Fest that was held last Saturday in Bennington, VT.  Firstly, let me say just how beautiful Bennington is!  The Amtrak will take you to Albany in 2.5 hours and it is a 40 min. drive from there.  So in under 4 hours you can embark on a journey through nature like you would not believe.  Before we hit the mountains for some hiking, we decided to head to the Annual Garlic Fest.  It is one of the top ten Garlic Fests in the country.  Who knew we even had ten of them!

I am not usually a fan of eating garlic raw, but it was so hard to say no to the farmers who were hawking the fruits of their labor at each table.  And with names like Russian Red and Music (yes, there is a Music Garlic) it was too enticing to walk away without trying a few.  Along with our raw garlic, we consumed some absolutely to die for cheese curds, inventive vegetable spreads, fudge with garlic, sangria with garlic, beer, and pizza with... GARLIC.  It was a lot of fun and once again, my trusty i Phone caught some beautiful shots of the day!
