A Moleskin Notebook To Me Is...
This post poses a question to all readers - "How do YOU use your Moleskin Notebook" Here is how I use mine:
- I treat mine like it is a pet.
- I use the front and back of each page.
- I write as I draw - by doing so I capture my train of thought from beginning to end.
- I recently started using the softcover ones - something about folding back the cover tells me "it is time to create."
- I usually put "a custom piece of artwork" as the reward if it is lost. Do most people not fill that out? Or do most people put a monetary value in that space?
- I recently read the pamphlet that comes with every Moleskin. Did you know it was written in six different languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and Italian.
- I have filled 8 Moleskins front and back in my lifetime. Wonder how many pages that is?
- I plan to re-visit each of my filled Moleskins over the years to see how/when/why my ideas developed. And to "poach" from my own past inspirations.
- And finally in my moleskin back pocket I currently has a used ticket to the Marble House Mansion in Newport, RI, a list of courses I will be taking at F.I.T. in the Fall, a movie stub from Shutter Island, and a Rite Aid gift card that is a year old. Figured if I put it in my back pocket, I would use it soon!
If you have a comment about how you fill your Moleskin, please share.
I fill it with anything and everything. It's my bible, my memory, and my future premonitions wrapped up in one. When I don't lose it!
ReplyDeleteI always offer zucchini bread to the lucky person who finds (and returns) my lost moleskin.
